Mac & Roc go for an ocean swim
Just love how my mom caught the clouds in this picture!
Our future family home: The Breakers in Newport!
A trip to the North End is not complete without a stop at Modern Pastry! YUMMMMY!
Our birthday dinner--only a month late. Better late than never!
Hey all, Quick update to the blog. I am really supposed to be studying allll about the cardiovascular system, but needed a quick break, so I thought I would up date you all on life in Boston. Last weekend, I had one of my favorite visitors: my mom! It was so great to see her. As some of you may know, we share the same birthday, the horrid 11th day of September. Every year since I have been little, we have shared a meal, a laugh, and a hug on that day. Me being in Boston and busy with school, we didnt get a chance to do that this year, so instead we had a late celebration. She flew all the way to Boston and we spent the entire weekend together. Dinner at Il Villagio (a FABULOUS Italian eatery!) in the North End, a day trip to Newport, a hike in the Blue Hills, and just all around girl time. I was so sad to see her go, but already looking forward to the next time I get to see her. Mom, thanks for coming. I miss ya already.
Other happenings in our lives: Ty is back on call every 4th night. He is super busy with call and now picking up extra shifts to supplement my lower student like income. He has been a great sport about the lack of sleep! He also thinks he has found the gene that he was looking for in lab: A HUGE discovery! Go Ty! And besides all of this: he has taken on a global health project. I have NO idea where the guy gets his energy, but I am so proud of him!
Mac: Well, as many of you know, Mac has been on a strict "raw diet", but not any more. We thought he was developing an allergy to chicken, so we switched his food yet again. But as we find out he actually has a skin condition. Yes, I know---this dog is very "special". Luckily the skin condition is just cosmetic, and we are hoping that a little baby oil does the trick (thats what the vet says to do!) No worries, he is still as cute and sweet as ever. Although, after 2 years of trying and wanting--he finally did catch that squirrel. Luckily, I was NOT home for the massacre. I would have died!
Me: You guessed it: school! Although it seems to get the best of me at times, I really do enjoy it. Have had a few exams, been fairly happy with the outcomes, and am back into the swing of being a student. Still working a couple (well, one--the hospital has been slow) days a week, too. The big thing on my mind currently, though: Halloween Costumes. We are hosting our 2nd annual Halloween Bash. We had such great costumes last year, I am afraid it might be tough to beat. Any ideas? Please share. I am at a loss for ideas.
Alright, well a quick blog post turned into a long drawn out bunch of BS...more than any of you wanted to hear anyway! :-) Hope all of you are well, and for those of you in Minnesota---SNOW? WHAT?! But wait, its all ok because WHAT ABOUT THOSE VIKINGS?!?!?!?!
